Library 2.0

Have a good read of "Web 2.0: Where will the next generation of the web it take libraries?". The most challenging bits of applying modern technology to the library service is to find out the patrons' real needs, I think. These needs vary among different user groups and change constantly. The feature of technology is "fast-paced changing". So if we apply tech to library service continuouly successful, we actually push technical renovations ahead.

Search blogs via Technorati

I have just signed in in Technorati and claimed my blog. This is a helpful tool to search millions of blogs if you want people to find you easily. I also created my watchlist for "iPhone", which is my target new year present. I want information needed easily found via applications like this.

Social bookmarking

This is a useful exercise. I learned how to bring my favourite websites around different places. Please find out the bookmarks I set up via http://del.icio.us/zanli. You could view it anytime, anywhere you want.

Search Engine

I just made a search engine using Rollyo. Please see the "Self-built search engine" on the side. This is a useful tool for librarians to provide information service to the public. Knowledge is like sea. We use our skills & experience to help people find whatever they want.

My hand-made catalogue

This is the first catalogue I made myself through "LibraryThing".
Please find it via
find it via "My book shelf" on the side of this blog. This is a
very handy way for the librarians to share their reading favor
with the customers. Hope you like my recommendations!

The first hand-made desk calendar

This is the first hand-made desk calendar created by BigHugeLabs. It is such an interesting experience that I learned how to be an entry-level graphic designer.
On the calendar is the most familiar bridge, path and trees to me in my university in China - South China University of Technology. The most exciting thing is I will visit it again in January, 2008, which is the annual leave of this year. I always dream of meeting my old friends there.

RSS Feeds

New technology changes our daily lives dramatically. One of the thing I learned and liked most through this Learning 2.0 is to embed some subscribed feeds into my blog. (Please see 'My favorite subscribed feeds'.) My interests normally focus on technology rennovations, library trends, environments & energy and the most important will be 'food receipts' for sure.
